Rev. Samuel D. Hicks

Rev. Samuel Hicks serves with distinction as pastor of the historic Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. As a rising leader and influential voice in the greater Venice community, Hicks is loved as a shepherd, appreciated as an intercessor, and respected for revitalizing his parishioners through teaching and preaching the Word of God.

His passion for the lost and drive to help Christians draw closer to the Lord is changing the local landscape. He welcomes those from all walks of life to experience the support and safety, connection and belonging, positive influences, shared activities, and acceptance found amongst our congregation.

In 2003 Rev. Hicks was ordained as a minister of the Gospel. His advanced studies include a Masters of Art in Teaching from the University of Tampa and a Masters in Biblical Studies from Logos Bible College and Seminary. He is married to Alice, and they have four wonderful children and four lovely granddaughters.
